Biography

Career
Albert BLANCHI was the son of Augustin BLANCHI, a violin maker born in Peille-Poglia. Initially trained as a violinist, Albert BLANCHI learned his craft in his father's workshop and eventually succeeded him in 1899.

Works
BLANCHI produced mainly violins (approx. 500) and cellos (approx. 60). Some guitars and mandolins bearing his label, however, were made for a handful of amateurs. BLANCHI’s work is highly appreciated by both musicians and collectors.
Albert BLANCHI would have died in 1948 and not in 1942 as indicated by René Vannes. (1)
